I have decided to offer two wonderful painting weeks in Ithaka , one of the least developed, and most beautiful, green and tranquil islands of the Ionian group, which was the much-loved kingdom of Homer 's mythical hero Odysseus. You will be able to choose whether to stay for one week, or for two.

We will be staying in Frikes , in the north east corner of Ithaka. Travel will be by direct flight to Kefalonia, and then a transfer to our hotel which will include a delightful private boat ride across turquoise-blue seas to Frikes, a tiny fishing village, with a picturesque little harbour backed by olive groves. Our base will be a comfortable family-run hotel with terraced restaurant and swimming pool, for a dip after all your hard work!  

Unlike most painting holidays, where there is just one tutor for all the students to share, on this trip there will be two tutors in the first week, to provide structured tuition and help. In the second week Jackie has to return to the UK but Jenny Halstead will stay on, and will organise new sessions and will help you to consolidate your work.

I have led many a painting trip, not only my own, privately-arranged trips, but also I have tutored painting weeks for The Artist magazine, West Norfolk Arts Centre, and The Can Xenet School of Painting. I will offer structured landscape painting advice, in all media, in group sessions, looking at techniques, composition, tone & colour, as well as providing each student with individual attention

studied at the Royal Academy Schools, she is one of Britain 's leading medical illustrators, who also teaches life drawing, and lately has begun to successfully exhibit fine art paintings in oils, water-colours and pastels. A good painting needs to be underpinned by really sound drawing, so Jenny will help you to develop your drawing skills, together with figure drawing, line & wash, and hopefully a “walk & sketch” session. She will provide group sessions and one-to-one advice.
